We sell Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs

• Kiln dried logs - are logs that have been force dried in kilns to reduce the moisture content down to between 10-20% rather than being dried naturally in barns or covered piles, which is a process known as ‘Seasoning’. 

•  Quality - Kiln dried logs are uniform in size, quality and moisture content unlike seasoned wood which varies tremendously, particularly in the moisture content which can be much higher than 20% resulting in inconsistent dirty burning and poor heat output.

• Cleanliness - Kiln dried logs are much cleaner to handle and because kiln dried logs burn drier, hotter and more consistently than seasoned wood, your stove glass is kept clean and the build-up of soot or tar in your chimney or flue will be less, meaning that sweeping is required less frequently and the risk of chimney fire reduced.

• Costs - Because you get so much more heat output from kiln dried logs compared to seasoned wood, you will actually need fewer kiln dried logs to heat your home than if you were to buy seasoned logs, and even though Kiln dried logs are more expensive to buy initially, you will burn far less wood overall and you will reduce chimney sweeping and maintenance costs.

• Availability - Availability is assured throughout the season as production is carefully managed to meet requirements and is not subject to varying climatic conditions as is the production of Seasoned Wood.

• Quantities - We sell kiln dried hardwood logs in large netted bags and Barrow Bags.  Our nets are not the small nets that you find in supermarkets and garages but large 30 litre nets that hold over 11/12kg of kiln dried hardwood. Barrow bags are canavas style bags that hold roughly the same as in 8 log nets.  Two and a half BBags hold roughly the same amount of loose wood as found in typical Builders Dumpy Bag.

•  Oak briquettes are made of pure oak sawdust and are 100% Eco friendly, compressed with no glues, no adhesives or any other chemicals added.

•  Briquettes have a low moisture content (less than 5%) making them far more environmentally friendly than logs.  

•  Briquettes have a slower burn time, generate more heat and do not emit any toxic chemicals. 

•  They burn more cleanly as they produce a very low ash content which is good news for your stove and chimney

• Local deliveries are made by our own vans.

• Delivery is free of charge -minimum order £79+vat.

• We will email you within 48 hours of receiving your order to confirm the day of delivery.

• Logs are delivered in  in pre-packed Nets or Barrow bags.

• Briquettes are delivered in wrapped packs of 12

• We will deliver to your home or workplace and stack nets, packs or barrow bags in your wood store free of charge.

• Local deliveries of logs and kindling take between 3 - 5 days working days from the date of ordering. 

•  Morning deliveries will be made between 9.00 - 1.00pm. Afternoon deliveries will be made between 2.00 - 6.00pm
